PDO Thread lifting is a non-surgical procedure that lifts sagging, aging skin without surgery. In addition, this non-surgical facelift method stimulates collagen production in the face and neck for progressive anti-aging results, even months after your procedure. The FDA-approved procedure is a popular facelift alternative for people who want to improve their looks without plastic surgery. The threads activate the body’s natural healing response, increasing collagen and skin elasticity and texture.

It’s time to turn back the clock with a thread lift! Hollywood Body Laser Center is proud to be a leading provider of safe, effective PDO thread lifts in the Denver Metro, area and surrounding areas in Colorado Springs and Westminster. Call us today to learn more about the PDO thread lift procedure and discover how this non-surgical facelift alternative can entirely enhance your appearance.

They are hypodermic needles preloaded with an absorbable PDO suture. PDO stands for Polydioxanone. It’s a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polydioxanone. PDO sutures are used to perform cardiothoracic surgery (such as open-heart surgery). It’s one of the safest materials to be implanted in the body.

Your skin fully absorbs it within 4 to 6 months & won’t leave you with any scar tissue.

Preloaded needle is inserted into the skin.

PDO thread stays beneath the skin when removing the needle, where they restore the V Shape. A beautiful and healthy face has a “V-Shape.” However, with the aging of tissues and the action of gravity, this “V-Shape” diminishes or inverts. This is necessary to lift the tissues and reposition the skin delicately.

Controlled Healing: In medical terms, it is a “Selective Inflammatory Response.” It is the principle behind many aesthetic procedures (such as Fractional Laser, Chemical Peels & Micro-Needling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting PDO threads, we make it “heal” itself by creating new collagen, naturally!

Your skin gently reacts to the inserted threads. Yes, PDO is fully absorbable, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t respond. During the 4 to 6 months needed to absorb the PDO suture fully, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s “controlled healing” happening underneath the skin.

Although PDO Threads can be inserted almost anywhere, one area where they are especially effective is the neck and jawline. This is because the lower third of the face is challenging to treat effectively with botulinum toxin or injectable fillers.

The PDO Thread before and after images show real results from actual patients. As always, individual experiences will vary.* However, each person shown below achieves noticeable improvements in their appearance, such as a more naturally lifted and defined face. In addition, they also achieve a more youthful look without undergoing painful, invasive surgeries.

There are two types of procedures with PDO Threads:

Smooth Threads or Mesh: The first one (Using Smooth Threads) consists of creating a mesh under the skin (i.e., two sutures inserted vertically & 3 sutures horizontally). It resembles a #hashtag or a net. This Mesh will serve as the foundation for our new collagen production. This technique tightens the skin naturally from within. Results appear naturally, without any drastic change.

Barbed Threads or PDO: The other technique (using barbed threads) is utilized to produce a more dramatic and immediate result. The PDO sutures have “barbs,” which provide a grip underneath the skin. Sutures are inserted similarly, except they can be pulled in 1 or 2 directions, creating an instant skin re-positioning. Just like with the Smooth Threads, the skin will build new collagen, securing the lift.

Thread lifting improves the skin and appearance of sagging skin by redefining the mid-face contours in two ways:

  • An Immediate Lift

Your thread lift procedure immediately lifts the mid-facial skin tissue without requiring invasive surgeries like a facelift. The results are, however, like a traditional facelift without the excess skin being removed. Instead, the threads suspend the skin. The thread lift pulls the skin up and back with the sutures. This provides an instant tightening effect without surgery.

  • Gradual Volume Improvements

Another way the thread lift improves your appearance is with gradual volume improvements. The procedure provides progressive results. This means, over time, you will begin to see more noticeable changes in your appearance. By triggering collagen production and neovascularization, the procedure restores volume and contour. As always, individual experiences will vary.*

Taking care of your skin after a thread lift is important to your healing and results. You need to rest for a full day after getting your thread lift. You may be able to move around wherever you want, but you should not perform a strenuous activity or lift anything heavy for at least three weeks following the procedure. You can take painkillers as needed afterward if you are experiencing any pain.

When you have a thread lift with the experts at Hollywood Body Laser Center, you will receive detailed aftercare guidelines to ensure you heal correctly and achieve the best results possible.

Thread lifts are not for everyone. The best candidate for this non-surgical facelift procedure is someone experiencing early signs of aging. Most candidates are in their late 30s to early 50s and want similar results to a traditional facelift without plastic surgery and a complicated recovery process.

Since this type of procedure is low-risk, it is the perfect option for people with conditions that limit them from surgical options. This includes people with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, or other concerns.

Speaking with a medical professional before committing to a cosmetic procedure, even a minimally invasive one, is always a good idea to be sure you are making the best decision for your health.*

How long does the PDO thread lift last?

Most people enjoy the effects of their thread lift for 18 months or longer. However, once the effects wear off, it is recommended that you schedule another treatment to continue enjoying your more youthful appearance.

How much does PDO thread lift cost?

PDO thread lifts can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $4,500. At Hollywood Body Laser Center, we proudly offer a PDO thread lift procedure for the low price of $2,500. To learn more about our pricing, schedule a consultation with our professionals.

How painful is a thread lift?

During a thread lift, you receive local anesthesia to combat any feelings of discomfort or pain. Afterward, you may experience some mild pain or soreness. You can take over-the-counter pain medication or a prescription pain reliever for several days until the discomfort dissipates.

How many PDO thread sessions do I need?

Patients tend to need between one and four treatments for the best aesthetic results. Most people choose to prolong the effects of their PDO lift with annual maintenance treatments.

Which is better, threads or fillers?

Threads are the best option for lifting and improving sagging skin and general skin laxity concerns. Thread lifts are the best option if you are experiencing some laxity, drooping, or sagging. On the other hand, facial fillers are a good option for addressing fine lines and general volume loss.

When you schedule a consultation with the professionals at Hollywood Body Laser Center, you can discuss your aesthetic concerns, and they can help determine which treatment method is best for your skin and needs.

Can you feel threads in your face?

The threads are under the skin, so you should not feel them since they are so small. Most people cannot feel their sutures at all once the skin has healed around them. You can speak more about this during your consultation if this is a valid concern.
