How Does Slimspec Work?
The treatment generates an instant reaction of a butterfly-like effect. The body responds to the therapeutic medical wave by increasing metabolic activity around the site of the treated area. The waves reduce the tissue oedema which is one of the initial phenomena of the cellulite. Reduction of oedema causes less puffiness of the skin. WHAT IS CELLULITE?
Cellulite is a condition that primarily affects women (up to 90%), but it can also affect men. Due to fat accumulation in the subcutaneous tissue, the skin surface of the lower limbs, particularly the thighs, hips, and buttocks, but also the abdomen and pelvic region, becomes dimpled after puberty. It’s sometimes referred to as “cottage cheese” or “orange peel” skin. Although increased fatty tissue load may aggravate the condition, it is not specific to overweight women.
WHY DO WE GET CELLULITE?
Collagen and elastin fibers are found in all skin tissue. Collagen is a fibrous protein that provides the structure and strength of skin. The same collagen also forms a series of fat-storage compartments (septae) within the skin, which provide structural support and insulation when functioning normally. However, as a result of several hormonal processes that occur after puberty, the septae can no longer hold the excess fat if those compartments become over-full and rigid. The septae bend or break, and the fat bulges out towards the skin’s surface, resulting in unsightly lumps. Rapid weight loss and gain, as well as dehydration, are all contributing factors, with genetics being the most important of all.
